Demetria Devonne Lovato, known as Demi, was born on August 20th, 1992 in Dallas, Texas. Demi and her older sister, Dallas were raised as Christians, by their parents, Patrick and Dianna. Dianna was a Dallas Coyboys cheerleader, and a country recording artist. Patrick moved to New Mexico when the marraige ended in 1994; at this time, Demi was 2. She also has a younger half sister, Madison De La Garza, who is involved in acting, too.
When Demi was six, she acted in the childrens' show, Barney and Friends, for two seasons. Then, in 2006 she guest starred on Prison Break. A year later, she appeared on Just Jordan. Soon after that, Lovato starred as Charlotte in a Disney mini series, As The Bell Rings. Episodes of the series were shown during commercial breaks on Disney, and were usually 2-3 minutes long. Some of Demi's original songs (such a "Shadow") were featured on As The Bell Rings. Demi left after the first season, and was replaced by Lindsey Black.
Shortly after Demi left As The Bell Rings, she got the lead role in, Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock. This was the second highest watched DCOM ever! Demi recorded three songs for the movie. She recorded "That's How You Know" for Disneymania 6, and covered "Wonderful Christmastime" on All Wrapped Up.
After the premire of Camp Rock, Demi's career took off! During the summer of 2008, she competed in the Disney Channel Games, appeared on Studio DC: Almost Live, and opened for the Jonas Brothers on their Burnin' Up Tour. Then, on September 23rd, 2008, Demi Lovato's debut album, Don't Forget, was released. It placed #2 on the Billboard 200, and sold over 89,000 copies in the first week.
Demi Lovato's success didn't end there! On February 8th, 2009, Demi's new show, Sonny With a Chance, premired, and became an instant hit! Then, on June 26, 2009, Demi starred in a Disney Channel Original Movie, Princess Protection Program, with her BFF Selena Gomez. Right now, Demi is her own headlining tour, with David Archuleta! Her sophmore album, Here We Go Again, is set to release on July 21st. There is so much more in store from this starlet!
